We Rise By Lifting Others
Professor Koji and his university students came back. They baked Japanese pancakes (Okonomi-Yaki) and helped the children to paint the background for the upcoming drama contest.
Our students diligently rehearsed every day for “The Academic Multi Skills Competition”. Singing in English, Thai poetry recital and aerobic dance were among the different categories of the contest. We are proud to announce that some of our students got first place and represented our district at the provincial competition: 1st place was achieved in moral drama. We will be representing Phang Nga province in January 2019 for a contest in Trang province.
Aerobic Dance group won 2nd place. English singing for boys and girls respectively received 2nd and 3rd places.
On Saturday September 15th, hundreds of sports enthusiasts from 24 hotels in Phuket gathered for the opening of the annual “7 Soccer Charity for Yaowawit School”. The event was held at Thanyapura Health and Sports resort and was highlighted by Thai dance and live music by Jam Start, a pop band of talented Yaowawit students.
It was our turn to visit our friends from the Special Needs School in Phang Nga. Students from Grade 4-6 brought toys, games and cards. We played, danced and made Thai desserts. Discussing our thoughts with the teachers about time spent with our dear friends was very meaningful.
As the first semester ended, we had a big celebration. Everyone had to join as the teachers planned exciting games, karaoke and dances for the children.
